NAPRANUM DREAMBUILDERS"It is a Story about changing the narrative, from a mindset of institutionalised control, fear and welfare dependency, to a mindset of self-determination, belonging and ownership."
|
This is a Story about a Shift.
A Shift from paternalism, punishment and prohibition to true belonging, community ownership and self-determination. It is a Story about changing the narrative, from a mindset of institutionalised control, fear and welfare dependency, to a mindset of self-determination, belonging and ownership. It is a Story about Napranum, an Indigenous community on the west of the Cape York peninsula of Australia, and their relationship with Annalise Jennings of Dynamic Exchange. It is a Story about the Whole of Community Change programme. Most of all, it is a Story about people and what they can achieve when inspired and given a chance. This Story will inspire Indigenous communities around the world, and help create a ripple effect of Hope and Healing. It will help facilitate healing in wider society. Sharing Culture has developed these web pages to allow you to take a short journey through the Napranum Story, using written and film content. We thank Annalise Jennings for helpful discussions and for checking through these pages. >> Start this magical Story here and then follow the links at the bottom of the right side of each page.
